Doors wide open for D2C adoption in US/iOS

The Ruling on Epic vs. Apple: Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has banned Apple from charging any commission or fees on purchases made outside of the App Store. Effective immediately, Apple is also prohibited from restricting how developers format or place links, buttons, or calls to action directing users to external payment sites.

As a result Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney stated Fortnite will return to the US App Store next week. Sweeney offered a "peace proposal" to drop all current and future litigation if Apple extends this commission-free framework globally.

Spotify also Celebrated the ruling, calling it a "landmark court ruling" and a victory for developers.
